Space Allocation Study – Administration’s response to PSA concerns

In response to concerns that the PSA raised about the use and placement of infrared sensors, the Administration has redesigned the program. While the Administration will inform employees about the revised program, we note that “under the desk” sensors will be discontinued and existing ones will be relocated. Please read the set of written assurances that the PSA has received which detail what data is being collected, how it will (and will not) be used and how it will be handled. Importantly please see point 9 of the memo. This memo contains a subset of the assurances the PSA has received. The others are reflected in the FAQs that the Administration has circulated to employees. Finally, as we hire more faculty, lecturers and staff to help us enhance our R1 status and provide a quality education to our growing student body, it is reasonable for the University to assess how space is being used. Please be sure that the PSA will continue to monitor how any studies are being conducted.
