PSA Speaks in Support of NJIT at the State Budget Hearings
On March 26, 2025, the New Jersey State Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee, and the Assembly Budget Committee, held public hearings on the proposed Fiscal Year 2026 State Budget. The event, hosted by NJIT, was held in its Campus Center Atrium. PSA board members were present, along with colleagues from UCAN and Rutgers AAUP-AFT, who called for sustained and meaningful investments in higher education, and specifically NJIT.
Amit Bose’s testimony outlined the potential impact of the proposed FY26 higher education budget cuts, while underscoring the role NJIT has played in advancing economic mobility for its graduates; overall, Bose emphasized the contribution NJIT has been making in strengthening New Jersey’s economy.
