The PSA is the legally recognized Union that represents the employment interests of over 1,100 full-time NJIT employees that includes the tenured and tenure-track faculty, University and Sr. University Lecturers, Academic Administrators, Professors of Practice and Professional Staff from all across the NJIT campus. Commonly known as the PSA, the PSA/AAUP-AFT is the Professional Staff Association, a Chapter of the American Association of University Professors and an affiliate of the American Federation of Teachers. The PSA negotiates and enforces the legally binding employment Agreement (contract) for its unit with NJIT and it governs their terms and conditions of employment. The Union is a democratic organization with an elected Governing Board and Officers, all of whom are NJIT employees and they act to represent the best interest of the PSA unit.
